Hey! I’m Theresa Horsch, and I’m a senior broadcast journalism and political science major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
I am from Norfolk, VA, and I whimsically decided to move out West for college. So, over the past three years, I have made it my duty to instruct all of my new Midwestern friends about the history and charming appeal of East-Coast, Southern living, while molding myself into someone more knowledgeable and appreciative of the Midwestern culture. Manifest Destiny?

Now, it’s my senior year and I am beginning to feel overwhelmed, yet excited about all that I have to do before May. As a member and officer of the Nebraska Women’s Lacrosse Team, when I’m not stressing-out about my Honors Thesis or variety of research papers, I can be found running around, hitting girls with my purple, glittery lacrosse stick.
After graduation, hopefully I’ll head back home to Virginia, to lie on the beach until Law School starts in August.

My political interests were sparked when I was 12-years-old and was selected to serve as a Page in the Virgina House of Delegates for nine weeks during the Legislative Session. While, admittedly, I spent a good deal of that time sledding down the Hill on lunch trays stolen from the cafeteria, or playing in the elevators at the Omni Hotel where we — me and the other 12-to-16-year-olds lived — I still managed to get bit by the political bug and seem to have yet to recover. Ideally, while in law school, I will work for a state representative or senator, which will boost my chances of serving in some similar — yet more substantial role — upon graduation.
